Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!!!!

While some of us are engaged in more mundane pursuits, a significant subcommittee of the BYSAPC Les Fêtards (the party animals)are gathered in the Crescent City for a weekend of abandon, or at least a weekend of overindulgence.

That's right it's carnival time and the Mardi Gras celebration is in full swing in New Orleans. Representing the BYSAPC this year are Teri, Jeff, Cathleen and, of course, the Mistress of Ceremonies--Colleen. Over the next few days they'll be eating Colleen's wonderful crawfish étouffée, Teri's oh so tasty muffaletta a la avenue, king cakes from Heydel's Bakery and whatever meats Jeff deigns to throw on the barbie.

I'm more than a little sad that I'm not there, but I'll be dreaming of beads tonight.

I hope that everyone had fun on the Avenue. I have been craving Teri's muffelatas. Last night to celebrate Fat Tuesday, I made a crawfish pie that was pretty good. My husband has been diligently practing his French. He may not like caves or little mushrooms, but he is pretty good with languages. Almost 100 days and counting. Where has the time gone???

Hank and I celebrated Tuesday with the leftovers of Colleen's crawfish etouffe and some spicy Popeye's Chicken and a couple of final drinks before lent. And needless to say a really good night's sleep after all that food and drink!

Well, the Bon Temps did Rouler!!! I had a wonderful weekend (preceded by a week of practice!) with portions of our SAPC. Jeff provided a return to Grill night in the back yard that rivaled the oringinal....(Cathleen was still watching sausages) but without Mike there was no naked dancing. We had lots of avenue time, and the parades were great!! Nothing beats the company, though!!!!
